At MRC we do things differently. We respect our traditions but with a keen understanding of the here and now and the who-we-want-to-be of the future. In this spirit, there’s something that needed an update – our dress code.
We now adhere to the relaxed racewear dress code within the Members Reserve at Caulfield, as well as Mornington and Ladbrokes Park, throughout the year.
For the gents, this means jackets and ties are optional, and short sleeved collared dress shirts and tailored shorts are permitted
For ladies, this means spaghetti straps and strapless dresses/ tops are en vogue, though please refrain from bare midriffs.
Of course, you are welcome to wear jackets, ties, pocket squares, your three-piece, at any time you like.
Items not permitted include: Jeans, cargo shorts, polo shirts, dilapidated clothing or shoes, sneakers and thongs.
While we are relaxing our dress codes, we are not removing them. Please ensure you are always dressed in attire befitting the Melbourne Racing Club and show respect for your fellow Members.
Caulfield Guineas and Caulfield Cup Days will revert back to the traditional Members dress code. Please refer to the Spring Style Guide for more information.
Members and their guests may be refused entry to the Members’ Reserve by Melbourne Racing Club staff if the above regulations are not adhered to. Management reserves the right to exercise discretion in respect to dress regulations.
