A Chat With Our MRC Community
by REBEKAH PATTERSON
We are missing our MRC friends as much as they are missing us. To fill the gap we’re all feeling, we’ve asked them the question:
“What are you looking forward to the most when back on track?”

Jim and Heidi live locally in Glen Huntly and don’t miss an MRC meeting or event. They are owners, breeders and genuine racing enthusiasts.
Answer:
“We can't wait to get back to the Heath to again see those magnificent thoroughbreds up close & personal. In addition, we have really missed the social aspect of a 'day at the races' & our 1st port of call will no doubt be the Medallion Bar.”
Warren Moore
MRC Owners Liaison
About:
Much-loved Caulfield stalwart Warren Moore, looks after and entertains winning owners on race days.
Answer:
“Blue Diamond Day 2020 seems so long ago. That was the last day we had owners on track to see their horses run. The thing I’m looking forward to the most is the joy and the excitement (maybe even High Fives if allowed) when someone's horse wins at Caulfield, and the first beers, bubbles and softies poured by Les Taggart in the Winners’ Bar. I’ve missed the energy and infectious happiness of owners after they have a winner."
Kristen Manning
Journalist, Author, Owner & Breeder
About:
One of the most passionate horse racing people around. She is known to sit on the other side of the Maribyrnong River and watch the Flemington races with her partner Vin and son.
Answer:
“Racing has done such a great job pressing on in trying times and I have enjoyed every moment of the action on the television. However, there is nothing like being at the track, that special connection with the horse you can only truly appreciate by being close to them. So that is what I am most looking forward to about being back at the races - the sight, the sound, the smell of the magnificent thoroughbred!”

Answer:
“First of all I miss the excitement of racing at Caulfield and meeting up with fellow Members. Secondly, the atmosphere of a day at Caulfield and it’s first class amenities.”

Answer:
“Just being able to see so many familiar faces that make a day at a track one of my favourite things to do!!!! Being able to look over the track from the 1876 Bar and hearing the thundering of hooves then celebrating backing a winner after the last in the Medallion Bar.”
