Members Joy continues to produce off the track, just as she did on it.

Her first foal, Pure Elation, was an absolute cracker. The grey/bay filly possessed all her mother’s trademark speed, prepared by Peter and Paul Snowden to run in both the Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) and Prelude (1100m) in 2018. She’d claim the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) before bowing out a winner in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) at Randwick, injury unfortunately ending her career prematurely.

Members Joy also has sons by Toronado (2017) and I Am Invincible (2019) on the ground, but it’s her now-two-year-old son Flying Start who MRC Members should be particularly excited to see debut very soon. By 2016 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) runner-up Flying Artie, the Newgate Farm bred and owned Flying Start is being trained at Caulfield by Lloyd Kennewell.

We caught up with Lloyd after the colt’s first ever jump out at Ladbrokes Park on September 10. Lloyd confirmed that the stable has a nice opinion of Flying Start, who we may see at the races in the Magic Millions Debutant Stakes (1000m) on Neds Caulfield Guineas Day on October 10.
